BREAD BAKER
Salary: £13.00-£14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent (part or full-time, Mon-Sat)
Location: Abergavenny, Monmouthshire

We supply our local community in Abergavenny and wholesale customers further afield with delicious bread and pastries, consistently made to high standards using carefully-sourced, quality ingredients. Job description
We are looking for an experienced baker to join our small, dynamic team in our award-winning bakery in the foothills of the Black Mountains (3-5 shifts per week / salary dependent on experience). Unfortunately this isn’t a role for someone looking for a new career as we’re not currently in a position to train people from scratch.
 
What You’ll Do
You'll be joining our bread team on production shifts within our busy artisan bakery operation. You'll have at least two years' experience of mixing, shaping and baking a variety of sourdough and yeasted breads. You'll also be working with enriched doughs and laminated pastries.
 
You'll be responsible, positive and reliable with excellent communication skills in order to work effectively as part of a small team. You'll have the drive and energy to join a friendly, supportive team working in a physically demanding job with early starts.
 
With consistent attention to detail, you'll work to achieve a high quality across all products whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.

HEAD BAKER
Salary: £15.40-£17.10 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent (4-5 days/week, Mon-Sat)
Location: Abergavenny, Monmouthshire
 
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to lead our skilled, friendly team at The Mews Bakery in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. This is a pivotal position in the business which involves a high level of expertise in people management and communication and a commitment to maintaining excellence in both quality, efficiency and sustainability of bakery production for our wholesale and retail lines. 
 
What You’ll Do
-          Lead and train our team of bakers, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations and maintaining consistently high standards and an environment of continuous learning and professional growth within the team
-          Work with our Operations Manager, Head Pastry Chef and Retail Manager to maintain a high level of customer service, quality control and product development
-          Develop and manage relationships with suppliers, millers and local producers
-          Manage administrative responsibilities including HACCP, staff rotas, training materials and regular staff reviews
 
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
•           A proven background in senior leadership roles, with at least 2+ years of experience in bread baking
•           Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to nurture and support a team in collaboration with other managerial staff
•           A passion for quality, ingredient-driven products and sustainable practices 
•           Experience and expertise working in a dynamic food production site with a meticulous eye on process, product and people
